With just one month to go until Microsoft Ignite, it’s impossible to miss the topic that will be the main focus of conversation, presentation, and persuasion – Artificial Intelligence. On the Ignite homepage, for example, AI is mentioned in five of the eight key topics Microsoft wants to explore during the four-day event.

This is not surprising as Microsoft is all-in on AI. AI is also a top priority and focus area not just for technology leaders, but also for business executives. The race is on to take advantage of potential opportunities and reduce the risk of falling behind.

However, as with all transformational technologies, there are nuances, unintended consequences, and collateral damage risks.

Understanding the nuances, addressing the unintended consequences, and mitigating collateral damage risks are essential. That’s what we do at Access IT Automation with Symphony, our industry-leading DEX and EUC product. And it’s why Symphony is the platform banks and enterprises are talking about in this emerging AI era.

AI, Automation, and DEX

Symphony is an automation and DEX platform within the EUC space. It is designed for enterprises, including those in highly regulated sectors such as financial services. We have been a trusted vendor by many of the world’s largest financial institutions for more than 15 years, but the world, including the corporate world, is changing fast. Much of that change is being driven by AI technologies.

Access IT Automation is on this journey, too, as we have incorporated AI technologies and features into our Symphony product. In addition to providing enterprise IT leaders with comprehensive information on users, endpoints, and applications, Symphony supports automation, communication, and DEX optimisation tools.

For example, Symphony enables self-service support, where employees can find answers and resolve problems (both technical and non-technical) without raising a support ticket or sending an email. They can do this using Copilot, engaging in conversation with the trusted AI-powered Microsoft assistant to quickly and seamlessly diagnose the issue and implement a resolution.

In other words, we have seamlessly integrated AI and automation with DEX principles and objectives. This type of practical, results-focused technology innovation is why Access IT Automation’s Symphony product is the trusted platform for a growing number of global banks and large enterprise organisations.

Maintaining an Emphasis on DEX, and Doing it at Scale

In a previous blog, we put forward our focus leading up to and during Microsoft Ignite – achieving DEX optimisation at scale. In 2025, that can’t be done without AI. The problem is that AI technologies have the potential to harm as well as enhance DEX, with the inevitable knock-on impacts on everything from productivity to customer service to innovation.

Consider the following:

  • It’s important to enhance oversight, monitoring, and access to data without eroding trust or introducing algorithmic bias.
  • AI-powered tools and automation technologies should be practical and useful, without inducing cognitive overload and technology fatigue.
  • AI-powered assistants can deliver immediate answers to questions and solutions to problems, but their introduction shouldn’t lead to a loss of workplace community or the dehumanisation of work interactions.
  • Innovative technologies are essential to properly manage IT environments and endpoint estates, but standards of privacy need to be maintained while also avoiding technical friction and poor integration.

A DEX Symphony

The word “symphony” describes an elaborate musical composition usually played by a full orchestra. The word also has non-musical uses, where symphony describes a composition of different elements.

For our product, Access Symphony, those different elements are endpoints, users, and applications, the composition of which is presented as data. You can’t listen to the composition our Symphony can produce within your organisation, but you can put it to use, especially in areas like IT support, DEX, and internal communication optimisation.

AI and automation technologies enhance the experience further, particularly for users.
